Western Select Players & Coaches Crushed Their 2024 Spring Seasons, Coming Up Big in Nebraska, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming!
Western players' and coaches' hard work and dedication paid off big time in the 2024 Spring Season! Western 2028 player Gabi Brown kicked things off by earning First Team All-League as an 8th grader on her Omaha, Nebraska High School Team! Jackson Hole Wyoming’s 14U Team, including 24 Western players and two Western coaches, beat out 22 other teams to win the 2024 IMLAX Utah League Championship! 12 Western players on the Teton Valley and Sun Valley High School Teams competed against each other in the Idaho State JV Championship, where Teton Valley pulled off a close 9-8 victory to capture the title! Even more impressive, this was the first year the Teton Valley Lacrosse Club had a girls’ high school team! Wyoming’s Jackson Hole High School team then won back the MHSLA Championship to be crowned Montana State Champions! Western 2027 player and Jackson’s Harlie Toolson was selected to First Team All-State as a freshman! Western coaches Sarah “Sal” Heasley and Whitney “Ween” Davidson helped lead their Olympus HS Team to capture the Utah State Championship! Finally, two Western 2027 Players, Ellie Schumacher (Teton Valley, Idaho) and Harlie Toolson (Jackson, Wyoming) helped the ID-WY-MT select team go undefeated on the first day at the USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina and finished the tournament as runner-up of their division losing a close match to the Pittsburgh Team.
If you are wondering why the Jackson Hole Wyoming teams are playing in other states, it is because there are not enough lacrosse teams in Wyoming for high school and middle girls to have a Wyoming league. However, it’s safe to say that if the Jackson Hole HS team can top all of the Montana HS teams and the Jackson Hole 14U team can defeat all of the teams in the IMLAX Utah league, we can crown those teams Wyoming State Champions as well! :)
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE WESTERN SELECT PLAYERS AND COACHES THAT PUT IN THE WORK TO MAKE IT TO THE TOP! We can’t wait to see the magic that happens this summer when the top talent from the Mountain West gets together! Let’s show the nation what Western Select is all about!
